CHILDREN & YOUTH

Enfield Kids on Sundays (EKOS)

EKOS is our program for children and young people (pre-school to tertiary).
Enfield Uniting Church is a community of people from many different backgrounds and cultures.
Currently, EKOS is made up of a majority of Australian-born children and young people
whose families came originally from South Sudan, India and South Africa.

We meet from 9.30am – 11.15am every Sunday during school terms.
Activities include regular classes with stories, Bible study and discussion,
craft, singing, games of soccer, handball and morning tea.

Occasional family BBQs are also included in the EKOS program.
Most families travel to church by a bus provided by the EUC congregation
(Northern Minibuses Mob: 0411 411 941).

We aim to make our playgroup a time when young children
come together to socialise and try new forms of play,
and a place where parents and carers can meet other parents in our community,
share parenting experiences and make new friends.

Children enjoy organised play activities together while their parents or carers supervise and socialise.
We offer diverse activities – singing, dancing, story-telling, art and craft.
Different types of play activities help develop children’s fine and gross motor skills, creativity, musicality, imagination and sociability.

Above all, our playgroup endeavours to give parents and carers a chance to deepen their relationship
through one-on-one play away from home and everyday distractions.
